La-net is the Danish network for researchers studying Latin America. The network was originally established as a limited network founded by the Danish Research Council for the Social Sciences (FSE), but in June 2009 the network was founded as a private organization open for all researchers who have Latin America as a main area of interest. Being still a very new organization, La-net has members from a series of research milieus in all Danish universities, mainly from the social sciences and humanities, and aspires to engage a majority of researchers engaged in Latin America from all disciplines. Besides constructing the network and supporting research and dissemination on Latin America, La-net is the main force in organizing the 5th Nolan conference (Nordic network for Latin American Research) to take place at the University of Copenhagen, November 10-12, 2010.
